world’s poor live in fragile or conflict-affected states
Conflict and fragility remain a challenge to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the World Bank Group's goal of ending extreme poverty by 2030. Overall, about 2 billion people live in countries where development outcomes are affected by fragility, conflict and high levels of violence. About half the world’s poor live in fragile or conflict-affected states. The global displacement crisis is of particular concern; the length of displacement can last years, affecting poverty levels, employment, and service delivery well beyond the immediate crisis.
